Sluggish Saturday Afternoon Dooms Women’s Volleyball in Loss at Middle Georgia

MACON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Women's Volleyball continued Southern States Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a road contest at Middle Georgia.

The Lady Barons (3-4, 0-3 SSAC) fell in straight sets to the Knights (2-2, 1-2 SSAC) in a 3-0 loss.

"We did not show up to play today," Head Coach Obed Quiles said. "Our offense was lacking, and we did not do a good enough job to earn points. We will get back to work and return to better play on Tuesday."

How It Happened

Middle Georgia opened the match with a swift 5-1 edge before the Lady Barons fought their way back into a level first set. After some back-and-forth action, the Knights pulled away from BPC to win the opening set 25-17.

Brewton-Parker led early with a 4-1 advantage in set two, but Middle Georgia controlled the ball for most of the set to go for a second-straight 25-17 victory for the 2-0 match lead.

The Knights took off quickly in set three and secured a dominant 25-9 win to secure the match in three straight sets.

Inside The Statistics Next Up
  • The Lady Barons will return to Gillis Gymnasium on Tuesday to open a three-game home stand as BPC faces Wesleyan (Ga.) at 6:30 p.m. ET in Mount Vernon.
