MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Brewton-Parker women's basketball continued postseason play on Friday night with an SSAC Tournament Semifinal matchup against the No. 2 seed Faulkner (Ala.) in the Multiplex at the Cramton Bowl.
The Lady Barons (22-7) battled until the end but were outlasted by the Eagles (24-6) down the stretch in a 69-64 loss.
"Tonight was a big-time game between two really good teams," Head Coach
Steve Edwards said. "I feel like it was the game of the year. Both teams made plays, but Faulkner made a couple more in the final two minutes."
"We will get some rest and we look forward to where we will land in the National Tournament," Edwards added.
How It Happened | 1st Q
- Angel McRae opened things up with a score at the 8:35 mark to give BPC an early 2-0 lead.
- Faulkner answered with a 6-0 run to claim their first lead of the night, leading 6-2 with 6:39 remaining in the quarter.
- After a layup from Micah Bess, the Eagles pulled to a 10-4 lead at the halfway point of the quarter.
- The Lady Barons closed out the half hot on a 14-2 run with A'Aliyah Clay netting six points down the stretch to lead the charge, giving BPC an 18-12 edge after the opening 10 minutes of play.

- Faulkner opened the second quarter on an 11-0 over the course of the first five minutes of play to move to a 23-18 lead.
- Samerria Bryant netted a shot from the perimeter to pull the Lady Barons back to a two-point deficit with 4:46 left on the clock.
- Brewton-Parker went on an 8-3 run over the next four minutes to claim a 29-26 lead but a trey from the Eagles sealed the half with a 29-29 draw.

- After an opening score from Faulkner, the Lady Barons produced a 9-0 start to the third quarter to lead 38-31 with 7:24 left on the clock.
- The Eagles quickly cut the deficit back to three points but a trey from Clay moved BPC back to a six-point advantage before Faulkner eventually cut the deficit down to just one possession with less than five minutes to play in the quarter.
- Score from McRae and Evans refreshed the six-point edge yet again with Faulkner knocking on the door.
- Brewton-Parker managed to hold onto the lead in the final moments of the quarter with the Eagles besting the Lady Barons 8-6 in the last three minutes of play as BPC led 51-47.

- Faulkner surged in the final quarter of play, outscoring the Lady Barons 22-13 in the final 10 minutes of the game.
- The Eagles took control of the first three minutes of the quarter with a 6-2 opening run to level the game at 53-53 with seven minutes to play.
- A successful and-one play from Chardell Jones moved the BPC lead back to three points, but Faulkner pieced together a six-point boost to recapture control of the score with a 59-56 lead, leaving 5:40 on the clock.
- Brewton-Parker was able to level the game at the 4:51 mark with another and-one trip from Jones to equalize, 61-61.
- In the final few minutes of play, Brewton-Parker was held to just one made shot from Cisley Copper at the 2:29 mark while Faulkner wrapped up the game by scoring eight points to secure a 69-64 win to advance in the tournament.
