WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Brewton-Parker College Women's Wrestling produced a 2-2 record at the Patriot Duals on Friday in Williamsburg, Ky.
The Lady Barons started the day off with a 29-20 loss to Siena Heights (Mich.).
Elora Waterman kicked the dual off with a forfeit at the 101-pound weight class to give the Barons a 5-0 lead.
Jaelynn Sunseri followed at the 109-pound division, dropping to a 10-0 tech fall. Tashayla West bounced back for the Lady Barons in the 116-pound Division, with a 2:00 minute fall to put BPC up 10-4.
Brewton-Parker gave up a forfeit in the 126-pound weight class before
Kathleen Fisher got a fall at the 1:15 mark in the 130-pound division, and
Jorie Richardson gathered a fall in 3:39 to give the BPC a 20-9 lead. Unfortunately, the Lady Barons had to forfeit the last four weight classes to drop the dual 29-20.
Sunseri (109) kicked off the match with Montreat (N.C.) with a forfeit win to give the Lady Barons a 5-0 lead, followed by a double forfeit at 116. West (123) took a tech fall loss, but BPC kept a one-point lead.
Fisher (130) and Richardson (136) both were able to pick up falls to put the Lady Barons up 15-4. Brewton-Parker had to take forfeits at 143, 155, and 191, while there was another double forfeit at 170. Waterman (101) ended the dual with a forfeit win, giving the Lady Barons a 20-19 win over Montreat.
Following up on the win over Montreat, BPC took down Liberty (Va.) 26-18.
Tatiana Garcia took a forfeit win at the 123-pound weight class to start the Lady Barons with a 5-0 lead. After a double forfeit at 130, Fisher (136) gathered a 57-second fall to extend the lead to 10. Richardson (143) fell in a 6-3 decision to give Liberty three points.
Brewton-Parker dropped the next three matches to forfeits and fell to an 18-11 deficit, but Waterman (101), Sunseri (109), and West (116) all took forfeit wins to give the Lady Barons the 26-18 win.
In the last match of the day, BPC took on Campbellsville. The dual started at the 130-pound division, where Fisher took a 1:20 fall, followed by a 9-1 decision loss from Richardson (136).
BPC took forfeit losses in the next four weight classes to fall behind 28-1. In the 101-pound division, Waterman fell in 4:30, and was followed by a 1:41 fall loss from Sunseri (109). Before taking another forfeit at 123, West was dropped in a 10-0 tech fall. The Lady Barons dropped the last match of the day, 47-1.
