MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Brewton-Parker Women's Volleyball concluded the season with a road contest at Faulkner (Ala.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Barons (5-18, 1-13 SSAC) fell in straight sets to the Eagles (10-17, 5-9 SSAC) in Montgomery, Ala.
How It Happened
Faulkner opened with a convincing 25-7 first set, besting Brewton-Parker 16-4 in kills while notching a .571 attacking percentage without a single attacking error. BPC gave away 10 attacking errors in the set.
The Eagles began the second set with a 7-2 run and did not look back in a 25-15 set two victory for a 2-0 lead in the match. BPC produced the best set of the match, hitting for a .161 attacking percentage with 10 kills with
Amme Mobley leading the way with four kills of her own.
After going down to another 7-2 run early in set three, the Lady Barons charged their way back into the match with the lead of
Naomi Taake notching three kills to level the score at 7-7. Faulkner reclaimed the lead and moved to a four-point advantage before Brewton-Parker tied the match at 12-12.
The Lady Barons took their first lead of the game, leading 14-13 with a service ace from
Abigail Snyder landing cleanly. After an equalizer from the Eagles, BPC moved to an 18-14 lead with a pair of kills from Mobley and an ace from
Hannah Duke shifting momentum toward the Lady Barons.
Unfortunately for Brewton-Parker, Faulkner found a spark to shift the game in their favor by closing out the match with an 11-3 run to secure the third set by a score of 25-21.
Inside The Statistics
- BPC struggled against Faulkner's attack which produced 40 kills on a .363 attacking percentage.
- Mobley led BPC with nine of the team's 22 kills, producing a team-leading .571 hitting percentage.
- As a team, the Lady Barons led the match 9-5 in aces with Mobley notching three followed by Reyna Lampe's two.
- Snyder finished with 15 assists while Alana Garcia notched nine digs.
