MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker women's basketball continues its unbeaten streak in 2023 with a dominant victory over Talladega on Tuesday night in Gillis Gymnasium.
The Lady Barons (18-5, 10-4 SSAC) rolled over the Tornadoes (5-15, 0-14 SSAC) in convincing fashion with a 30-point win over the visitors to eclipse the double-figure win mark in SSAC play.
"We always want to care of our home, and we did that tonight," Head Coach
Steve Edwards. "Our older players made sure we were ready to play. We shared the ball well and we defended well. We will get back to work tomorrow to prepare for Middle Georgia on Thursday."
How It Happened | 1st Q
- The game opened slowly as the first score was Micah Bess's solo point from the charity stripe nearly two minutes into the first quarter.
- A layup from Sy-Marieona Williams roughly a minute later boosted the BPC score to three.
- Talladega eventually found a score at the 5:53 mark to pull the game within a point.
- Williams knocked down her first trey of the night before the Tornadoes responded with a jumper in the paint to move the score to 6-4.
- Brewton-Parker went on a 10-2 run over the next couple of minutes to jump out to a 16-6 lead with Williams netting seven points.
