MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The Brewton-Parker Volleyball program hosted Webber International (Fla.) and Carolina University (N.C.) for a tri-match in Gillis Gymnasium on Saturday.
The Lady Barons (0-8) dropped the pair of games against the Warriors (3-4) and the Bruins (4-3), 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.
How It Happened vs. Webber International
- Webber opened the match with a 25-14 set one victory of Brewton-Parker.
- The Lady Barons fought hard in the second set, trading blows for most of the set. However, the Warriors pulled toward the end to win 25-19 for a 2-0 match lead.
- Webber started set three quickly and did not look back. The Warriors led 23-11, but the Lady Barons fought back to close the set.
- Unfortunately, BPC fell short by dropping the third set 25-18.
Inside The Statistics
- WIU led with 42 kills while BPC managed to record 24.
- Jala Merriweather notched seven kills to lead the Lady Barons with Keelie Jordan recording five and Naomi Taake totaling four. Taake also notched three aces.
- Kaitlin Reynolds led with 16 assists while Tanner Lallman and Kinsley Jordan recorded nine digs each.
- Webber led the match with a .309 hitting percentage while Brewton-Parker recorded a .122 hitting percentage.
How It Happened vs. Carolina University
- Carolina opened the match with an early set one lead, but Brewton-Parker was able to level the set at 8-8. However, the Bruins stood strong and fought off the Lady Barons to secure the set 25-15.
- The Bruins continued to perform in the second set, securing a 2-0 lead with a 25-12 victory.
- In set three, BPC battled by going back and forth with CU for the entire set. Carolina slowly built up a gap in the scoreline, but the Lady Barons continued to respond.
- Brewton-Parker withstood the Bruins to secure a 25-23 win, forcing a fourth set.
- After an early back and forth between the two, Carolina eventually secured the match with a fourth-set win, 25-16.

- Carolina totaled 54 kills for a .194 hitting percentage while Brewton-Parker totaled 25 kills for a .007 hitting percentage.
- Both teams were leveled with five blocks apiece.
- The Bruins racked up 52 assists with the Lady Barons recording 24.
- Taake and Jordan led BPC with six kills each.
- Reynolds notched 22 assists to lead the Lady Barons while Lallmann and Taake both recorded 18 digs for the match.
