MARIETTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker women's soccer traveled to Marietta, Ga. to take on Life (Ga.) in the season finale on Thursday night.
The Lady Barons (4-11-1, 1-6-1 SSAC) were outmatched against the Running Eagles (7-5-2, 5-2-1 SSAC) in the 4-1 defeat.
How It Happened | First Half
- Julissa Sanchez opened things up in the 10th minute, releasing the first shot of the match which was denied by the Life keeper.
- The Running Eagles struck first in the 12th minute to lead 1-0.
- Megan Parker produced BPC's second shot on goal in the 27th minute, resulting in another save by Life.
- In the 35th minute, Kortnee Powers took her chances offensively with a denied shot on frame.
- The Running Eagles snuck an additional goal in the net in the final seconds of the half to lead by a two-goal advantage.
How It Happened | Second Half
- Life added one more score to the tally in the 53rd minute to lead 3-0 before the Lady Barons responded in the 57th minute with a goal of their own.
- Yesenia Zamudio found the back of the net with the help of Beata Chako to minimize the deficit to two goals.
- In the 65th minute, Life notched one more goal to lead 4-1.
- The Running Eagle defense came in clutch during the 77th minute as one of Chako's attempts on frame was saved by the Life backline, denying the Lady Barons yet again.
