MARIETTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker men's soccer traveled to Marietta, Ga. to face No. 17-ranked Life (Ga.) on Thursday night.
The Barons (2-10-2, 2-4-1 SSAC) dropped in the 5-1 defeat against the Running Eagles (11-2-1, 5-2-1 SSAC).
How It Happened | First Half
- BPC recorded the first shot of the match as Elijah Trujillo's attempt sailed high.
- Life responded with three unanswered attempts with one landing on frame to give a chance for Sven Marnot to record a save.
- The Running Eagles scored in the 16th minute to lead 1-0.
- In the 18th minute, Jade Oliver equalized through the air by connecting on a set piece from Landon Brafford to draw the match to 1-1. Oliver managed to get a head on the ball to find the back of the net.
- Life notched an additional four shots before eventually sliding one past Marnot in the 26th minute to lead 2-1.
- The Barons were denied in the 41st minute as Derventz Alitdor's attempt was saved by the Life backline.
How It Happened | Second Half
- The Running Eagles produced a trio of attempts that landed wide of the goal to open the second half.
- Altidor was denied yet again by a defensive save in the 55th minute as Life's backline continued to keep the Barons from adding to the tally.
- Shortly after the Running Eagles found their third goal of the match in the 56th minute.
- In the 76th minute, Life managed to jump to a three-goal advantage to lead 4-1.
- The Running Eagles slotted home a fifth goal in the 82nd minute to lead 5-1 over the Barons
- The Life defense held tough for the remainder of the match keeping Brewton-Parker from registering a single shot to close out the final minutes.
