MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker volleyball hosted Talladega (Ala.) on Friday night to continue SSAC action.
The Lady Barons (1-17, 1-10 SSAC) fought hard against the Tornadoes (10-11, 3-8 SSAC), but fell 3-0 in Gillis Gymnasium.
How It Happened
- Both teams traded shots early in the first set to go back and forth.
- Talladega began pulling away and eventually secured the opening set, 25-16.
- Set two opened in a similar fashion, but the Lady Barons were held to just 11 points as Talladega secured back-to-back sets.
- The third set proved to be a thriller as BPC managed to build up to a seven-point lead.
- Unfortunately, Talladega was able to outlast the Barons with a 25-21 win to secure the match in straight sets.
Inside The Statistics
- TC notched 44 kills on a .252 hitting percentage while BPC produced a .047 hitting percentage and 19 kills.
- Naomi Taake led the Lady Barons with six kills followed by Katy Mathis with four.
- Kinsley Jordan recorded a pair of aces with Mathis dishing out 12 assists.
- Tanner Lallmann gathered nine digs while Mathis and Jordan produced seven each.
