Women's Soccer Defeats Florida National 2-0

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The Brewton-Parker women's soccer program captured their fourth win of the season on Tuesday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Florida National.

The Lady Barons (4-7) utilized a goal in each half to push past the visiting Conquistadors (1-6).

Head Coach Prince Borde gave his thoughts after the match. "It was nice to be able to add to the win column today," Borde said. "We begin conference play on Thursday, and we are on the road. We play in one of the toughest conferences in the country in the SSAC so capturing this win was a good boost to the team morale ahead of the conference opener."

How It Happened

  • The Lady Barons opened the match with tons of pressure on Florida National, outshooting the Conquistadors 6-2 before finding the net in the 24th minute.
  • Kadisha Martina scored with the help of Aurora Miglio to give Brewton-Parker the 1-0 lead.
  • Brewton-Parker tallied 10 shots in the first half with six on frame while Florida National could only muster three attempts and one on frame.
