Box Score 2 MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Brewton-Parker volleyball program dropped its weekend home slate of matches to Loyola (La.) and William Carey (Miss.).
The Lady Barons fell 3-0 to Loyola on Friday night and then dropped Saturday's match 3-0 to William Carey. After the weekend, Brewton-Parker moves to 2-11 on the season and 0-4 in SSAC play.
Friday – BPC vs Loyola (7-6, 2-1 SSAC)
How It Happened
- The Wolfpack gathered set one by a score of 25-14 over the Lady Barons.
- Loyola followed with a score of 25-16 in set two to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- In set three, the Wolfpack overpowered the Lady Barons with a 25-9 victory to seal the sweep.
Inside The Statistics
- Loyola's offense produced 37 kills while Brewton-Parker gathered 17 on the night.
- A total of 23 errors on the attack doomed the Lady Barons while the Wolfpack only recorded seven.
- Noelle Primus led Brewton-Parker with five kills in the match.
- As for other team leaders, Marina Dennis led with 17 assists while Kinsley Jordan led with eight of the Lady Barons' 36 digs.
Saturday – BPC vs William Carey (9-6, 3-1 SSAC)
How It Happened
- After a back-and-forth effort to open the match, the Lady Crusaders captured the opening set 25-15 over the Lady Barons to lead 1-0.
- William Carey took set two with a score of 25-13, moving the lead to 2-0.
- In set three, WCU opened on a 5-0 run with BPC within reach of leveling the set, but the Lady Crusaders were able to power through the set to win 25-13 and capture the 3-0 victory.
Inside The Statistics
- William Carey gathered 38 kills with Brewton-Parker recording 20.
- Offensive errors remained a factor on Saturday as the Lady Barons totaled 28 errors with the Lady Crusaders recording 16.
- As a team, BPC tallied 36 digs with WCU
- On Saturday, Jala Merriweather led the Brewton-Parker attack with five kills with Primus close behind with four.
- Dennis recorded another double-digit assist performance with 16.
- Janessa Ortega, as well as Jordan, gathered double-digit digs with 12 and 11, respectively.
