Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Brewton-Parker women's soccer program fought hard on Saturday afternoon but ultimately fell to No. 5-ranked Southeastern (Fla.) 2-1 in overtime.
The Lady Barons (2-5-0) managed to keep the Fire (5-1-0) away for most of the match but fell late in the first overtime period.
How It Happened
- The Lady Barons took a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute as Kadisha Martina gathered the ball off the miscue from SEU's defense and slotted it past the keeper.
- For the first 45 minutes, Southeastern outshot Brewton-Parker 11-5 including 6-1 in shots on goal.
- The Fire managed to equalize the match at 1-1 in the 54th minute.
- BPC was outshot by SEU 14-3 in the second half.
- Both sides remained deadlocked for the remainder of the match, forcing the match to move to overtime.
- The Fire were relentless in their efforts in the overtime period, scoring in the 98th minute to secure the victory 2-1.
