Volleyball Falls to Mobile to Close Out Weekend Slate of Games

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The Brewton-Parker volleyball program dropped their match to Mobile (Ala.) in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Barons (2-20, 0-13 SSAC) fell to the Rams (20-5, 9-4 SSAC) who were a tough team to challenge.

How It Happened

  • Mobile gathered control early in set one and would not look back. Most of the points scored from Brewton-Parker came from errors from Mobile. The Rams captured the set 25-10 to open the match with a 1-0 lead.
  • In the second set, the Rams continued their dominant performance by winning the set 25-6 to take a 2-0 lead over the Lady Barons.
  • For the third set, Brewton-Parker led 3-1 early into the set before Mobile equalized and controlled the scoreline for the remainder of the set. The Rams gathered the set 25-9 to win in straight sets.

Inside The Statistics

  • On the attacking side, Mobile led with 39 kills while Brewton-Parker recorded just eight.
  • The Lady Barons, unfortunately, gathered 17 errors with Mobile notching just nine.
  • Individually, Teishawna Hughes picked up three kills to lead BPC while Kinsley Jordan and Taylor Scarbrough both gathered two apiece.
  • Keelie Jordan led with nine of the team's 31 digs as well as led with six assists.
