Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Brewton-Parker volleyball program fell to SSAC foe (RV) Loyola (La.) in three sets on Friday Night.
The Lady Barons (2-17, 0-10 SSAC) were unable to fight off the dangerous Wolf Pack (15-7, 9-1 SSAC).
How It Happened
- Loyola captured the lead early in set one with Brewton-Parker attempting to grasp a steady run to close the gap but pulled away to win the first set 25-12.
- In set two, the Lady Barons opened with a 3-0 run before the Wolf Pack quickly evened the set at three apiece. Loyola regained control of the set and never looked back as they secured the set 25-15.
- Unfortunately, set three proved to be a similar fate for the Lady Barons. Loyola gathered the lead early and Brewton-Parker was unable to produce a comeback effort. The Wolf Pack captured the set 25-12 to defeat the Lady Barons in straight sets.
Inside The Statistics
- As a team, Brewton-Parker totaled 14 kills while Loyola gathered 27 on the night.
- Loyola was near perfect with just five attacking errors with the Lady Barons garnering 29.
- Jala Merriweather led BPC with four kills on the night while splitting the lead in digs with Janessa Ortega. Both Merriweather and Ortega gathered seven digs each.
- Kinsley Jordan and Taylor Scarbrough gathered a second-best three kills apiece for the Lady Barons.
- Marina Dennis led with 11 assists and two service aces.
