Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The Brewton-Parker volleyball program fought hard in its Southern States Athletic Conference matchup on Friday night but ultimately fell short in the five-set match.
The Lady Barons (2-15, 0-8 SSAC) battled through the match winning the first set but were ultimately beaten by the Tornadoes (9-10, 3-5 SSAC).
How It Happened
- Brewton-Parker captured set one 26-24 to lead 1-0 over Talladega. The entirety of the set was close between each side, but the Barons pulled their way through to get the early advantage.
- In set two, Talladega was able to pull away to a 12-6 lead before Brewton-Parker began to threaten the lead. However, the Tornadoes managed to thwart the Lady Barons' opportunity for a 2-0 lead.
- With the match all-square, set three was just as close as Talladega won 25-21. The set was filled with both teams trading scores with several tied scorelines. After a 19-19 stalemate, Talladega ran away with the third set to lead 2-1.
- The Lady Barons controlled most of set four to tie the match 2-2 after winning 27-25 to force a fifth set. The Tornadoes were able to take a lead late into the set, but momentum was on Brewton-Parker's side as the Barons took the set.
- After a quick couple of scores from BPC, Talladega led the set for the rest of the way to capture the match 3-2. The Tornadoes captured the final set 15-1l.
