Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The Brewton-Parker women's soccer program fell to No. 1-ranked William Carey (Miss.) 5-0 on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Barons (7-8, 3-1 SSAC) were defeated by the visiting Crusaders (12-0, 4-0 SSAC), dropping the first conference match of the season.
How It Happened
- Both sides were held scoreless for the first 28 minutes of the match. William Carey's attack was pressuring the Lady Baron backline heavily until the Crusaders were able to break through in the 29th minute to lead 1-0.
- William Carey managed to add to their lead in the 37th minute, jumping to 2-0 over Brewton-Parker.
- The Crusaders netted one additional goal just before the break in the 42nd minute to lead 3-0.
- William Carey outshot Brewton-Parker 14-2 in the first 45 minutes of play.
- A scoreless 23 minutes would pass in the second half before the Crusaders were able to find the net once again. In the 68th minute, William Carey netted their fourth of the match to extend the lead.
- Moments before the final whistle, the Crusaders gathered one final score to move the scoreline to 5-0.
